At Ulbrich, community outreach is a core part of our identity. It reflects three of our five Core Tenets—Family Values, Continuous Improvement, and Total Company Involvement. Over the last few months, several of our divisions have been hard at work volunteering and supporting local organizations through our Ulbrich Community Outreach program. Here’s a look at some of the inspiring efforts that took place this spring!

YMCA Camp Ulbrich Refresh

On a beautiful spring day, the Ulbrich Community Outreach Team rolled up their sleeves and joined the Wallingford Family YMCA for the annual Camp Ulbrich Clean Up event. With rakes, shovels, and plenty of teamwork, our volunteers helped prepare the campgrounds for the upcoming summer season.

Camp Ulbrich is a cherished local resource, offering a safe, active, and enriching environment for hundreds of children each year. By participating in this effort, our team is proud to help create a space where kids can make memories, build friendships, and enjoy the outdoors. We had the perfect weather and a great turnout,” said one Ulbrich volunteer. “It’s always rewarding to give back to a place that brings so much joy to families in our community.”

Thank you to the Wallingford Family YMCA for continuing to provide such a valuable space. At Ulbrich, we believe strong communities are built through service, connection, and support—and we’re honored to contribute to that mission.

Bowling for a Better Tomorrow

On March 4th, Ulbrich employees gathered for a bowling fundraiser benefiting the Meriden-Wallingford Chrysalis Center, a local agency providing crisis intervention, shelter, and support for victims of domestic violence. Each year, domestic violence affects over two million people, with 1,300 lives lost. In Connecticut alone, 23% of women and 13% of men have experienced severe domestic violence. More than 40 team members from Ulbrich Specialty Strip Mill, Shaped Wire, and Corporate enjoyed two hours of bowling, pizza, and camaraderie at Bowlero. Ulbrich matched all bowling fees, with proceeds going directly to the Chrysalis Center. The Rolling department even formed a spirited team dubbed the “Ulbrich Rollers”! It was a night of fun and friendly competition—all in support of a lifesaving cause.

WFC Walk for Hope to End Homelessness

In April, Ulbrich proudly sponsored the Women and Families Center’s Walk for Hope, supporting their mission to end homelessness and empower individuals and families in our community. The two-mile walk took place through Choate Rosemary Hall’s scenic campus on a cool spring morning, followed by refreshments and music. The Women and Families Center provides transitional housing and a wide range of support programs for homeless youth and other vulnerable populations. We’re proud to support their meaningful work.

USWP & USSM Support First Responders

In March, several destructive wildfires swept through parts of South Carolina, including Oconee and Pickens County. Some fires took weeks to contain, placing immense strain on local firefighters and law enforcement. In response, our teams at USSM and USWP joined the local community to collect much-needed supplies for first responders. Thanks to the generosity of our employees, we gathered Gatorade, canned foods, protein bars, medicated lotions, wipes, eye drops, and more. We are deeply grateful to the first responders who worked tirelessly to keep our communities safe—and to everyone at Ulbrich who contributed to this effort.

USWP Partners with Rebuild Upstate

USWP partnered with Rebuild Upstate, a nonprofit that repairs homes for low-income residents to make them safer and more livable. These households often include older adults, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and families with children. Ulbrich volunteers were split into a morning crew of ten and an afternoon crew of nine, coming together midday for a group lunch. The team had the privilege of replacing a ramp for Ms. Bette, a vibrant 98-year-old who uses a walker to stay active, attend lunch outings, and play Bingo with friends. Ms. Bette expressed heartfelt thanks to Ulbrich for building her a safer ramp. Thank you to everyone who made this meaningful project possible!

UOI Caters Dinner for Almost Home

As part of Ulbrich’s ongoing commitment to community and philanthropy, members of the UOI team partnered with Almost Home, a local organization supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and addiction. On March 31, 2025, UOI employees served a catered meal to nearly 100 people at Trinity Evangelical Church in Oak Lawn, IL. Food was provided by Country House. In addition to a hot meal, this event helped connect individuals to mental health services, harm reduction programs, and a welcoming community. We’re proud of our team’s efforts to support this vital organization.

UPA Beautifies Fort Taber Park

On June 6th, members of the Ulbrich Precision Alloys (UPA) team rolled up their sleeves for a community cleanup at Fort Taber Park in New Bedford, MA — just a short walk from the UPA facility. Employees spent the afternoon working together to help preserve this beloved public space along the scenic Buzzards Bay coastline. Fort Taber Park is a 50-acre waterfront gem, known for its rich history, sweeping ocean views, and recreational amenities. Home to a decommissioned military fort built between 1857 and 1871, the park features over a mile of walking paths, picnic areas, a beach, playground, fishing pier, and even a Braille trail for accessibility. The UPA team focused on tidying the grounds, picking up debris, and ensuring this historical and recreational landmark remains a clean and welcoming space for the community to enjoy. We’re proud of our employees’ efforts to support the local area and help keep Fort Taber beautiful for residents and visitors alike.

Together, We Are Ulbrich Strong!

As the season of renewal and growth, spring has been the perfect time for Ulbrich teams to come together and give back to our communities. From coastal cleanups to youth programs and local nonprofit support, these efforts reflect our ongoing commitment to service. With the warmer months ahead, we’re excited to continue this momentum—deepening our impact and strengthening our connections not just this year, but for many seasons to come.
