Burghardt + Schmidt GmbH Commissioned to Build High-Precision Stretch-Bend-Leveling Line for Ulbrich

Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals, headquartered in North Haven, Connecticut, has engaged Burghardt + Schmidt GmbH to develop a state-of-the-art Stretch-Bend-Leveling (SBL) system. The new line will incorporate advanced technology to support the processing of a wide range of stainless steels, as well as nickel-based alloys, titanium, and other specialty alloys.
The SBL line will be designed to help correct shape deviations that can occur during cold rolling operations, supporting improved flatness, consistency, and overall material quality. The system will also feature advanced automation and process-control capabilities designed to integrate with Ulbrich’s production operations.
The new line will enhance Ulbrich’s ability to process precision strip products for demanding applications, including ultra-light-gauge materials. Once installed, the system will represent a significant investment in Ulbrich’s continued commitment to precision, quality, and advanced manufacturing capabilities.
