Black Ready Ribbon (BRR)

Black Ready Ribbon is the latest product for fully black PV module solutions. BRR is designed to blend in with the color of Solar Cell, improving the aesthetics of PV modules for building- and rooftop integrated solutions to a new level, without the use of additional complex and expensive covering or painting processes. BRR has a coated in a thin later of halogen and halide free Alpha CRR-BK flux which is based on the ALPHA PV Ready Ribbon technology. Because of this there's no need for liquid flux in an automated cell stringing process and a plug and play process integration is used instead. This is a more simple and streamlined process which keeps costs low and storing efforts to a minimum. The final ribbon characteristics will be unaffected by the black flux and the final product meets the highest quality standards Ulbrich’s customers have relied on for over three decades.

Light Capturing Ribbon (LCR) is offered in two different finishes, silver LCR-XP™ and tinned LCR-SP™. LCR-XP™ is a high efficiency grooved solar cell interconnect wire that replaces traditional flat ribbon used to connect solar cells together within a module. It was developed to increase the efficiency of a solar module by reflecting more light back onto the surface of the cell. This innovative grooved interconnect wire steers the reflected light back to the glass/air interface allowing total internal reflection back onto the cell surface. Up to 80% of the incoming light that strikes the LCR-XP™ ribbon is recovered significantly higher than the 5% recovery of traditional solar cell tabbing and interconnect wire. LCR-SP™ is a higher efficiency grooved solar cell interconnect wire that replaces traditional flat ribbon used to connect solar cells together within a module. Like the tinned version, it was developed to increase the efficiency of solar modules by reflecting more light back onto the surface of the cell with grooved interconnect wire steers. Up to 80% of the incoming light that strikes the LCR-SP™ ribbon is recovered significantly higher than the 5% recovery of traditional solar cell tabbing and interconnect wire.

Multi-Tabbing Wire (MTW)

Multi-Tabbing PV Wire has a small dimension of round wire. This allows for a more narrow bus bar width on the solar cell, reducing the shadowing loss with traditional rectangular ribbon, while maintaining optimal power gains for the best output results. MTW has many benefits including reduced silver consumption for cell production, low melting temperature solder alloys, lower series resistance, lower production cost, higher module power output, and lead or lead free consistent solders concentric applied for a perfect bond between solar cell and tabbing wire. Multi-Tabbing PV Wire offers the same high quality and performance standards you would expect from other Ulbrich products supplied to the PV industry.

Ulbrich's Solar Cell Tabbing and Interconnect Wire is rolled from round wire in a proprietary process, then solder coated on all four sides. This combination of processes results in superior coatings and a completely burr free product. It is typically produced from a tin or tin alloy coated copper flat wire. A critical feature of Tabbing and Interconnect is lower yield strength and higher elongation. Our standard ribbon is engineered softer than the inferior higher yield strength ribbon commonly produced. Our XP Ribbon, capable of larger cross sections, transmits electricity even more efficiently.
