Earl Cox retired from Ulbrich after 32 years of service on Friday, September 30, 2016. Earl started with Ulbrich in July of 1984 and spent time as a material handler and annealer before spending his next 30 years in the packing department.
“It’s been a great experience working here,” he said, “There’s so many good people. It’s really a family atmosphere.”
When asked what his plans for retirement are, Earl said he wants to “take it easy and spend time with family.”
Earl, a Wallingford native, said he is especially eager to spend more time with his three granddaughters, ages 11, 18 and 21.
A gathering was held in the early afternoon of his final day to thank Earl for his dedicated service to Ulbrich. Coworkers, some of whom have worked alongside Earl for decades, and family members were on hand to wish him a happy retirement.
“It hasn’t fully sunk in yet,” he said, “It kind of feels like I’m just going on vacation. I’m going to try not to get emotional, but I probably will. I’ll miss this place.”
From everyone at Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals, Inc. we wish Earl a happy and healthy retirement!
